A Museum of Waiting
Twelve loading animations, displayed with museum labels and the seriousness they have always deserved.

The brief
Show creative loading sequences as real working animations.
The idea
A loader is the only piece of interface whose whole job is to keep you company. So each exhibit here is a small idea about waiting: a kettle, a queue where someone at the back gives up, a moth that never reaches the bulb, and a bar that gets to ninety per cent and stays there for the rest of your life.
Decisions
- Every loader is one idea and one object.
- Wall labels carry the jokes, so the animation can stay quiet.
- Almost everything is pure CSS.
- With reduced motion on, the collection rests.
How it came together
- Listed things people wait for in real life.
- Reduced each to one shape and one loop.
- Wrote the labels last.
How it works
A static page of CSS keyframe loops, with one small canvas for the moth.
