Second Shift
A complete startup pack for a marketplace that rents out restaurant kitchens during the hours they stand empty.

The brief
Create a startup pitch deck, business concept, go-to-market strategy, launch plan, customer journey and business model, labelling any illustrative figures.
The idea
Restaurants pay for their kitchens around the clock and use them for about eight hours. Small food makers cannot afford one at all. Second Shift connects the two, and the deck tells it as two people with one problem.
Decisions
- The story opens on two named people instead of a market size.
- Every page with a number carries an Illustrative label.
- Go-to-market is deliberately unglamorous: twenty kitchens in one postcode.
- The launch plan names what must be true each quarter, which is what an investor actually asks.
How it came together
- Started from a fact anyone can check by walking past a restaurant at 3 a.m.
- Wrote the journey of one customer before any numbers.
- Built slides as fixed HTML pages and printed them to PDF.
How it works
One HTML document at 1600 by 900 per slide, printed to PDF from Chrome.
